Steward Report Predict Pace Map
In the early stages, NASA PEARL travelled wide and without cover. Approaching and passing the winning post on the first occasion, CHATER SILK and UNIQUE SPEED, which were proving difficult to settle, got their heads up. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, LUCKY MONEY got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of TACTIC KING. Making the turn near the 1000 Metres, NASA PEARL was bumped and carried wider by CHATER SILK which when continuing to prove difficult to settle got its head up, became unbalanced and shifted out away from the heels of UNIQUE SPEED. After entering the Back Straight, UNIQUE SPEED, which was continuing to prove difficult to settle, raced without cover. Making the Home Turn and in the Home Straight, PRIME TARGET hung in and for the majority of the Home Straight had difficulty obtaining clear running and because of this was not properly tested. Over the concluding stages, PUERTO RICO was close to the heels of PRIME TARGET and because of this was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. Also over the concluding stages, CALIFORNIA BISHOP raced tight between LUCKY MONEY and EVERGREEN which was bumped by CHATER SILK which shifted in slightly. Because of this, CALIFORNIA BISHOP was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. D Whyte (CHATER SILK) explained after proving difficult to settle in the early and middle stages, he gave consideration to shifting out to a position behind UNIQUE SPEED and then allowing his mount to stride forward, however, he felt this would have placed him wide and without cover for a significant portion of the race as he believed UNIQUE SPEED would maintain a position to his inside. He said for this reason he elected to remain racing in a two wide position behind EVERGREEN. PRIME TARGET was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of PRIME TARGET after the race did not show any significant findings. CHATER SILK, TACTIC KING and WARM EMBRACES were sent for sampling.
