From wide barriers, WHATAFANTASY, TIGER RIDGE and AMO were taken back in the early stages. FLY HIGH began awkwardly, then lost further ground after being bumped by SOLAR MIGHTY. Shortly after this, FLY HIGH was steadied when awkwardly placed between LOLLIPOP and SOLAR MIGHTY. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, SOLAR MIGHTY got its head up and lost ground when awkwardly placed between DARE TO WIN and MACHO EXPRESSO. At the 100 Metres, FLY HIGH was steadied and shifted out when disappointed for running between DARE TO WIN and SOLAR MIGHTY. Over about the final 50 Metres, AMO was unable to obtain clear running and because of this was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. For the major part of the race, HONEST TREASURE travelled wide and without cover and DASHING CHAMPION hung out. M Du Plessis (FLY HIGH) reported his mount did not handle tonight’s track conditions. FLYING SPRINTER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of FLYING SPRINTER after the race did not show any significant findings. LOLLIPOP and COUNTRY MAGIC were sent for sampling. Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 3 April 2008) Acting on a report from Mr C H Yip, trainer of DARE TO WIN, that the horse was lame in its left front fetlock, DARE TO WIN was examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Mr Yip this morning. The Veterinary Officer confirmed that DARE TO WIN was lame in its left front fetlock. Before being allowed to race again, DARE TO WIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
