LIGHTNING MOUNT was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (respiratory disease). Before being allowed to race again, LIGHTNING MOUNT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. KINGSTON TEMPLE began awkwardly and then despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to muster speed. On jumping, NOBLE ZOOM stumbled. In the early stages, GLOBAL WAY, which had been ridden along to go forward, was obliged to race wide and without cover until obtaining a two wide position after the 1000 Metres. At the 800 Metres, TIMBER CITY was left racing wide and without cover. On straightening, RISING WIN was steadied and shifted in when unable to obtain clear running between GLOBAL WAY and NOBLE ZOOM. At the 200 Metres, GLOBAL WAY, which was giving ground, became unbalanced when bumped by RISING WIN which at this time was carried out by EXCELLENT PLASTIC which in the Straight hung out and proved difficult to ride. In this incident, inconvenience was also caused to RISING WIN. GLOBAL WAY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of GLOBAL WAY after the race did not show any significant findings. LAZY BUDDIES, LIMONCELLO and ARISTOCRACY were sent for sampling.
