WINNING FIRST was withdrawn on 10.4.08 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, WINNING FIRST will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. DIAMOND PRINCE began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of WILFRED'S PET. In the early stages, WILFRED'S PET raced ungenerously, got its head on the side and hung out. At the 900 Metres, STORMIN JOBURG, which was racing greenly, shifted in abruptly. After this, STORMIN JOBURG proved difficult to settle for some distance. After the 100 Metres, DIAMOND PRINCE shifted out abruptly. Because of this, M Du Plessis, its rider, stopped riding and straightened his mount. STORMIN JOBURG and DIAMOND PRINCE were sent for sampling.
