PURE ALPHA was a little slow to begin, then lost further ground after being checked when crowded for room between FANTASTIC TIME and CLASSIC KING, both of which shifted ground. After this, when making ground, PURE ALPHA proved difficult to settle. AMBITIOUS OWNER, which was leaning against the outside of its stall, began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped AMAZING FORTUNE. After this, AMBITIOUS OWNER was taken across behind runners. In the early stages, DANABAA and FORTUNE DRAGON proved difficult to settle. At the 400 Metres, SPIRIT OF LO PAN was brushed by FULL BLESSINGS which shifted out into clear running. After the 400 Metres, AMAZING FORTUNE and ICHIBAN were carried wider by SURE GAIN which shifted out to obtain clear running. Throughout the race, AMAZING FORTUNE travelled wide and without cover. FANTASTIC TIME was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of FANTASTIC TIME after the race did not show any significant findings. ICHIBAN, DANABAA and SPIRIT OF LO PAN were sent for sampling.
