TOWERING FEELING was withdrawn on 10.4.08 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (substantial quantity of mucopus in trachea on scoping) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter INDUSTRIAL MARVEL. Before being allowed to race again, TOWERING FEELING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SICHUAN HERO bounded in the air at the start and lost ground. In the early stages, from the outside barrier, MASTER POWER was taken across behind runners. In the middle stages, SECRET OF KINGS proved difficult to settle, then for some distance after straightening had difficulty obtaining clear running. After the 200 Metres, WHATABOB was checked when disappointed for running between ROYAL PERICLES and ENTHUSED. Over the concluding stages, ENTHUSED shifted wider on the track. Throughout the race, O’REILLY RALLY travelled wide and without cover. B Prebble (GALLANT CHAMPION) explained as the horse had not been beginning well in its trials he had been instructed to endeavour to have the horse jump well and then be balanced throughout the race. He said GALLANT CHAMPION began nicely, he immediately ensured the horse was properly balanced and it soon was out-paced in the early stages. He said GALLANT CHAMPION travelled in a rearward position. He said after making the turn at the 800 Metres GALLANT CHAMPION commenced to travel keenly. He said in the Straight GALLANT CHAMPION kept on one-paced until the concluding stages where it commenced to give ground. He added in his opinion GALLANT CHAMPION will be best suited in races of further than that of the 1400 Metres of today's race. O'REILLY RALLY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of O'REILLY RALLY after the race did not show any significant findings. ABLE TOO and ENTHUSED were sent for sampling.
