DANZIGMOUNTAIN was slow to begin. After the 1600 Metres, PACIFIC ALLIANCE was steadied when awkwardly placed inside CHARMING MONKEYS which was racing ungenerously with its head up and hanging out. At the 1500 Metres, PACIFIC ALLIANCE was again steadied away from the heels of CAPTAIN BUNNY. After the 1500 Metres, CHARMING MONKEYS, which continued to race ungenerously, was steadied away from the heels of ENERGETIC BOY. At the 1000 Metres, TELECOM TYCOON was left racing wide and without cover. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, STARFINDER was steadied away from the heels of FILEBO which itself was steadied away from the heels of PACIFIC ALLIANCE which got its head on the side, commenced to hang out and made the turn awkwardly. At the 600 Metres, CAPTAIN BUNNY broke down. When CAPTAIN BUNNY broke down, inconvenience was caused to a number of runners, the worst being PACIFIC ALLIANCE which was checked and shifted out and FANTASTIC WIN, FILEBO and STARFINDER, all of which were hampered. At the 300 Metres, FILEBO was checked when crowded for room between FANTASTIC WIN which was carried in slightly by DANZIGMOUNTAIN and FABULOUS TREASURE which was carried out by PACIFIC ALLIANCE (G Mossé) which for some distance had been experiencing some difficulty obtaining clear running and at this time shifted out. In the circumstances, G Mossé was severely reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. In the Straight when giving ground, CHARMING MONKEYS hung out and at the 100 Metres was steadied away from the heels of ENERGETIC BOY which shifted in. FILEBO and TELECOM TYCOON were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of FILEBO and TELECOM TYCOON after the race did not show any significant findings. DANEPRINT and MEGA BULLET were sent for sampling.
