When the gates opened, GRAND GENERAL bounded in the air, then on landing stumbled. After this, in the early stages GRAND GENERAL proved difficult to settle. On jumping, FORTUNE DRAGON was crowded for room between JADE CHINA and MAJESTIC HEART, both of which shifted ground. REAL REJOICING was slow to begin. After the 1500 Metres, JADE CHINA was steadied to avoid the heels of FORTUNE DRAGON after being carried in by CRUSH ON YOU which in turn was carried in by EXPEDITIOUS (O Doleuze). O Doleuze was told to exercise greater care. Approaching the 1400 Metres, JADE CHINA was steadied away from the heels of MAJESTIC HEART which when proving difficult to settle got its head on the side, shifted out and was steadied away from the heels of FORTUNE DRAGON . For a considerable distance after straightening, MAJESTIC HEART was held up and unable to obtain clear running. In the early part of the Straight, CRUSH ON YOU had some difficulty obtaining clear running, then after the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of GRAND GENERAL to go forward. From the 400 Metres until near the 300 Metres, ACCELERATOR was held up and unable to obtain clear running. After the 200 Metres, FORTUNE DRAGON, which was hanging in, was steadied when disappointed for running between EXPEDITIOUS and PICTURE PERFECT which when giving ground shifted out. For a short distance after the 200 Metres, DON RICARDO had difficulty obtaining clear running. Over the concluding stages, WAIT FOR ME shifted wider on the track. Throughout the race, EXPEDITIOUS travelled wide and without cover. MAJESTIC HEART and EXPEDITIOUS were sent for sampling.
