CRUSH ON YOU was slow to begin. At the 500 Metres, CRUSH ON YOU was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of DRAGON BOY. From the 400 Metres until the 300 Metres, SPEEDY was held up and unable to improve. After the 150 Metres, GOLDEN TREASURE, which was giving ground, was momentarily steadied away from the heels of CARE FREE MIDAS which got its head on the side and shifted in away from DASH. Just prior to the winning post, CARE FREE MIDAS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of DASH which shifted in when barely clear. Because of this, CARE FREE MIDAS was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. For the major part of the race, GOLDEN TREASURE travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the improved performance of DASH, Trainer C H Yip was not able to offer any explanation. He said DASH had not impressed him in its track work leading into today's race and because of that he advised the connections of the horse that he did not fancy the chances of DASH in today's race. He said he had not varied the training or feeding routine for DASH between today's race and when it ran last on the All Weather surface at the Sha Tin racemeeting on 21 September 2008. He said he was surprised today that DASH travelled comfortably in the run as on occasions in the past the horse has shown a reluctance to stay on the bridle despite being ridden along in its races. Mr Yip was told while he might be of the opinion that DASH is an inconsistent type, he nonetheless has a responsibility to ensure he does all that he is able to to ensure the horse maintains its form. SEAKING TREASURE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, SEAKING TREASURE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had bled from both nostrils. DASH and SPEEDY were sent for sampling. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on HERE WE GO at the request of Trainer A S Cruz. The Veterinary Officer said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, HERE WE GO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
