FANTUZZI was withdrawn on raceday afternoon by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (fever). Before being allowed to race again, FANTUZZI will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SEA TREASURE began awkwardly and lost ground. Shortly after the start, when being taken back from a wide draw, WONDERFUL BLESSING got its head up. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, PRIME TARGET, which initially had drawn a gate outside PALETTE THE BEST, was checked while awkwardly placed inside PALETTE THE BEST which shifted in slightly and when racing close to the heels of FLORAL NIRVANA and tight outside INDUSTRIAL EXPRESS which was carried out by SEA TREASURE. In this incident, INDUSTRIAL EXPRESS, which was proving difficult to settle, was also crowded for room. No action was taken. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, SEA TREASURE was checked away from the heels of KINGSGATE GLORY. Also after passing the winning post on the first occasion, WONDERFUL BLESSING got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of DASHING THUNDER which in turn was steadied away from the heels of KENOBE which itself was steadied away from the heels of RELY ON ME. In the early stages, the tongue tie fitted to RELY ON ME came undone. Making the turn near the 1300 Metres, PALETTE THE BEST, which was racing without cover, was carried wider by FLORAL NIRVANA. Near the 1200 Metres, PRIME TARGET got its head up when tightened for room between PALETTE THE BEST and SEA TREASURE. After the 1200 Metres, INDUSTRIAL EXPRESS, which had been proving difficult to settle because of the tempo, was allowed to stride forward into the lead. After the 1100 Metres, PALETTE THE BEST was steadied away from the heels of PRIME TARGET which was shifted out. At the 800 Metres, FLORAL NIRVANA was left racing wide and without cover. Near the 600 Metres, KINGSGATE GLORY was steadied away from the heels of MASTER DREAMER. In the early part of the Straight, KENOBE had difficulty obtaining clear running between RELY ON ME and INDUSTRIAL EXPRESS. At the 250 Metres, SEA TREASURE was steadied away from the heels of DASHING THUNDER which was carried wider by MASTER DREAMER which was shifted out after being disappointed for running inside INDUSTRIAL EXPRESS. B Prebble (PRIME TARGET), which performed poorly, reported due to the tempo of the race his mount would not settle and raced ungenerously. He said because of this after the 1200 Metres he allowed his mount to improve around the field into a forward position and as a consequence it failed to finish the race off and was disappointing. He said in his opinion the poor performance of PRIME TARGET was due to the tempo of the race. PRIME TARGET and KINGSGATE GLORY were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of PRIME TARGET and KINGSGATE GLORY after the race did not show any significant findings. PALETTE THE BEST, WONDERFUL BLESSING and KENOBE were sent for sampling.
