SUPER POWER was slow to begin. On jumping, LIGHTNING MOUNT was crowded for room between LUCKY TYCOON which shifted in and RISING WIN which began awkwardly and shifted out. After this, despite being ridden along, LIGHTNING MOUNT failed to muster speed. Making the first turn, LUCKY TYCOON raced ungenerously and got its head up. Near the 1400 Metres, ARISTOCRACY was steadied away from the heels of LUCKY TYCOON which was taken back to a position behind LIMONCELLO. O Doleuze (RISING WIN) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the turn at the 700 Metres he permitted his mount to shift out when not clear of ARISTOCRACY, causing that horse to lose its rightful running and be checked. O Doleuze was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Sunday 9 November 2008 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting next Sunday 2 November 2008. Throughout the race, BAUHINIA travelled wide and without cover and prior to straightening was steadied away from the heels of G-ONE LEADING. Shortly after straightening, BRAVO HORSE got its head on the side and shifted out. Over about the final 300 Metres, VITALITY CHAMP was not able to obtain clear running and because of this was not properly tested. Prior to the winning post, SOUND OF SILENCE was momentarily steadied away from the heels of LIMONCELLO. B Doyle (BRAVO HORSE), 6th placegetter, pleaded guilty to a charge of failing to ride his mount out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards [Rule 100(2)]. For this breach, B Doyle was fined the sum of $20,000. RISING WIN was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of RISING WIN after the race did not show any significant findings. LIGHTNING MOUNT, LUCKY TYCOON and TALE OF FRIENDSHIP were sent for sampling. Additional Veterinary Reports <30/10/2008> The Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison reported that G-ONE LEADING was this morning found to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, G-ONE LEADING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
