After being boxed, MY TIME and POWER RETURN became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, MY TIME and POWER RETURN will both have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. From wide barriers, DRAGON EYE and ACHILLES OF TROY were on jumping taken across behind runners. LUCKY WINNER began awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the turn at the 600 Metres, KEEN SOUL, which had been travelling wide and without cover, got its head on the side and hung in. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, MAGIC CHARIOT was tightened for room inside GRAND COMMANDS which got its head on the side and shifted in. Shortly after straightening, KEEN SOUL got its head on the side and shifted in. Over the concluding stages, CONFUCIUS CLASSIC hung in and proved difficult to ride. Approaching the winning post, HAR HAR CHARMS, which was experiencing some difficulty obtaining clear running, was shifted out from behind TOWKAY FLYER. As a consequence, KEEN SOUL was carried wider. B Prebble (POWER RETURN) said after being fractious in its stall he allowed the horse which was having its first race start in Hong Kong to be balanced in the early stages. He said approaching the turn at the 600 Metres POWER RETURN which was commencing to make ground got its head on the side and shifted away from the rail. He said when the field quickened on straightening POWER RETURN was left flat-footed. He said the manner in which POWER RETURN raced tonight indicated to him that the horse would be better suited racing over distances of further than the 1000 Metres tonight. POWER RETURN was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. LUCKY WINNER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of POWER RETURN and LUCKY WINNER after the race did not show any significant findings. TOWKAY FLYER and CONFUCIUS CLASSIC were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that MAGIC CHARIOT had lost its left front plate. <4/12/2008 Additional Veterinary Report > The Stable Veterinary Surgeon reported that MAGIC CHARIOT was this morning found to be lame in its left front and right hind legs. Before being allowed to race again, MAGIC CHARIOT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
