THE GOODIES began awkwardly and lost a considerable amount of ground. REAL SPECIAL, which was fractious in the stalls, was slow to begin. On jumping, FLORAL NIRVANA was taken back. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, FANTASTIC GUY was carried wider to a position without cover by INDUSTRIAL EXPRESS which shifted away from the rail. After entering the Back Straight, FANTASTIC GUY was ridden along to improve its position, however, continued to race without cover. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, REAL SPECIAL was steadied away from the heels of LUCKY MONEY which got its head on the side and was carried in by INDUSTRIAL EXPRESS. Prior to straightening, FLORAL NIRVANA was steadied when disappointed for running between LUCKY MONEY and INDUSTRIAL EXPRESS which when held up and unable to improve while racing close to the heels of WONDERFUL BLESSING shifted in slightly. On straightening, LUCKY MONEY was steadied away from the heels of KINGSGATE GLORY which was giving ground. In the early part of the Straight, REAL SPECIAL, which was experiencing difficulty obtaining clear running, was shifted wider on the track, then near the 200 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of THE GOODIES to continue going forward. Close to the line, FANTASTIC GUY was tightened for room between FLORAL NIRVANA and THE GOODIES. In the Straight, when giving ground, WONDERFUL BLESSING hung in and at the 100 Metres was steadied when awkwardly placed between FLORAL NIRVANA and FANTASTIC GUY. The performance of KINGSGATE GLORY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, KINGSGATE GLORY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WONDERFUL BLESSING and KINGSGATE GLORY were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of WONDERFUL BLESSING and KINGSGATE GLORY after the race did not show any significant findings. THE GOODIES, LONDON EXPRESS and REAL SPECIAL were sent for sampling.
