NILOMETER was slow to begin. REWARDING STAR was a little slow to begin, then lost further ground when bumped by SURE GOOD which shifted in after being bumped by WAIT FOR ME. On jumping, DIAMOND ERA got its head up. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, PRIME TARGET and SURE GOOD raced tight. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, PRIME TARGET lost its running when crowded for room between MAINLAND SHUTTLE and SURE GOOD which at this time was carried in by PACIFICO (A Starke) which shifted when not clear. A Starke was reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. KENOBE and REWARDING STAR, which were following, were hampered in consequence. At the 1300 Metres, NOBLE HEART was checked to avoid the heels of REWARDING STAR which shifted out after being bumped by PRIME TARGET which got its head up and shifted out away from the heels of MAINLAND SHUTTLE. Near the 400 Metres, REWARDING STAR was checked when crowded for room between MASTER DREAMER and MAINLAND SHUTTLE (J Spencer) which shifted out when not properly clear. J Spencer was severely reprimanded. After the 200 Metres, C Soumillon (NOBLE HEART) dropped his whip. Throughout the race, MASTER DREAMER travelled wide and without cover. WAIT FOR ME was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of WAIT FOR ME after the race did not show any significant findings. KENOBE and REWARDING STAR were sent for sampling.
