WINBO was slow into stride, then despite being ridden along failed to muster. KING POWER began awkwardly and making the Home Turn hung out. From wide barriers in the early stages, ABOVE ALL and ENDLESS LUCK were taken back. Near the 1100 Metres, LAMBRO, which was proving difficult to settle, was bumped and carried in by STORMIN JOBURG which was also proving difficult to settle and was steadied away from the heels of KING POWER. Shortly after this, LAMBRO shifted out and carried STORMIN JOBURG wider. WINBO, which was following and racing keenly, was checked and shifted out which caused inconvenience to ENDLESS LUCK, NOBLE HEART and ROCKET FORCE. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, VICTORY STYLE was steadied when crowded for room inside WINBO which when continuing to race keenly got its head on the side and shifted in while being steadied away from the heels of STORMIN JOBURG. At the 800 Metres, VICTORY STYLE was checked when awkwardly placed inside the heels of WINBO which at this time shifted in slightly when being steadied away from the heels of STORMIN JOBURG. JADE DRAGONFLY, which was following, was steadied in consequence. Approaching the Home Turn, STORMIN JOBURG was carried wider by LAMBRO which shifted away from the fence. Prior to straightening, ROCKET FORCE was steadied away from the heels of STORMIN JOBURG which shifted out after being bumped by LAMBRO (B Doyle) which at this time shifted to the outside of KING POWER into clear running. Some inconvenience was caused to NOBLE HEART and ENDLESS LUCK which were following. B Doyle was reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. From on straightening until near the 200 Metres, ENDLESS LUCK, which was travelling inside the heels of ABOVE ALL, was held up and unable to improve between that runner and ROCKET FORCE. Because of this, ENDLESS LUCK was not fully tested. After the 200 Metres, NOBLE HEART was checked when disappointed for running between WAIT FOR ME which shifted out slightly and STORMIN JOBURG which was giving ground. At the 50 Metres, JADE DRAGONFLY was steadied away from the heels of VICTORY STYLE when having difficulty obtaining clear running. WAIT FOR ME, which was following, was steadied in consequence. For the majority of the Home Straight, WAIT FOR ME had difficulty obtaining clear running and because of this was not fully tested. Throughout the race, ABOVE ALL travelled wide and without cover. M W Leung (LUCKY MONEY), 7th placegetter, was reminded of his responsibility to ride his mounts out at least hands and heels right to the end of the race where circumstances permit. JADE DRAGONFLY, ENDLESS LUCK and STORMIN JOBURG were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of JADE DRAGONFLY, ENDLESS LUCK and STORMIN JOBURG after the race did not show any significant findings. LAMBRO, REWARDING STAR and WINBO were sent for sampling.
