When the gates opened, WINNING REWARD lifted its front feet off the ground and as a consequence was slow to begin. PLAN EX was slow to begin and then was bumped by WILLING STORM which began awkwardly and shifted in. Near the 1200 Metres, GALEN WIN, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up. After this, GALEN WIN continued to prove difficult to settle and again got its head up near the 1000 Metres when being steadied. From on straightening until near the 200 Metres, WILLING STORM was held up and unable to improve. Near the 200 Metres, GALEN WIN was momentarily steadied away from the heels of BROM BROM which was carried out slightly by PRESTO. Near the 100 Metres, WEI HAI INVINCIBLE was steadied away from the heels of ROMPING (J Victoire) which shifted in when not quite clear. J Victoire was told to exercise care. Over about the final 100 Metres, FERRO BEAU had difficulty obtaining clear running inside ROMPING. Because of this, FERRO BEAU was not ridden out fully to the end of the race. After the 100 Metres, PLAN EX, which was closing the race off strongly, was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of WEI HAI INVINCIBLE. Throughout the race, HORACE' CHOICE travelled wide and without cover. PRESTO and GALEN WIN were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of PRESTO and GALEN WIN after the race did not show any significant findings. DREAM TEAM and ROMPING were sent for sampling.
