KING CREOLE began awkwardly, bumped the inside gate of its stall and lost ground. On jumping, ASIAN CITRUS was bumped by GANBARIA which shifted in. MEGABUCKS began awkwardly and was then bumped by MY MEMORY which shifted out. As a consequence, MEGABUCKS lost ground and after this was taken to a position with cover. In the middle stages, FAIR NAVIGATOR hung out and making the turns shifted wider on the track. In the Straight, INVESTAR hung in. Throughout the race, MY MEMORY raced greenly and in the Straight hung out. B Prebble (LEGEND) explained he had been instructed to allow the horse to be balanced in the early stages. He said after beginning well in what was going to be a quickly run race, he elected to take LEGEND back to ensure it was balanced as per his instructions. He said LEGEND travelled well in the run. He said approaching the Home Turn he improved to track ASIAN CITRUS which he felt would carry him forward. He said at the 400 Metres the manner in which LEGEND was travelling gave him the impression that the horse would figure in the finish of the race. He said on straightening he placed LEGEND under pressure, however, he was somewhat disappointed with the manner in which his mount initially responded to his riding. He said however in the run to the line LEGEND did make ground. MEGABUCKS and CLASSA FOR EVER were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of MEGABUCKS after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, CLASSA FOR EVER was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was lame in the right front leg and had sustained a laceration wound to the left front cannon. Before being allowed to race again, CLASSA FOR EVER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ASIAN CITRUS, SUN TROOPER and INVESTAR were sent for sampling.
