LUCKY WINNER was withdrawn on 16.2.09 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter YUE LU TREASURE. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY WINNER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After arriving in the saddling stalls, PLAN B had its right hind plate reset. PLAN B was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. FORTUNE SPIRIT was slow to begin. YU LUE TREASURE began awkwardly. At the 750 Metres, HIT SONG broke down and was eased out of the race. MY TIME, which was following, was steadied and shifted wider which in turn caused TEAM WORK to be carried wider. Approaching the turn at the 600 Metres, MAMMA MIA and THE WORLD OF LOVE were checked to avoid HIT SONG. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, TEAM WORK was checked and shifted wider to avoid the heels of MY TIME which shifted out after being bumped by WINDICATOR RETURNS which was carried out by KINDACROSS. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, MY TIME hung out. For a considerable distance approaching and passing the 200 Metres, TOP TOP LIGHT had difficulty obtaining clear running. In the Straight, MAMMA MIA hung in. PLAN B and KINDACROSS were sent for sampling.
