The gelding recently completed a turf trial at Conghua over 1600m on {10/3}, finishing (4-5-4-3) with a steady, unremarkable performance. Five weeks prior, over the same distance, it ran well – settling in mid-pack and showing good acceleration when asked, though slightly unbalanced. A subsequent barrier trial didn’t particularly impress. Drawn inside for this race and receiving an 8lb weight relief, but facing unfavorable timing within its class, despite a proven record at this trip, opportunities appear limited.
