Two weeks ago, this horse ran a decent race over 1200m at Happy Valley, jumping slowly and settling towards the back before making a move in the middle stages. He chased Lascar but was beaten three lengths, finishing sixth. Having recently trialled on dirt over a mile, this time he benefits from a two-pound weight reduction. The distance is not ideal, and despite drawing an inside barrier, a hold-up tactics are expected. His finishing kick is likely the strongest in the field. The jockey has some understanding of the horse's ability, and the trainer/jockey combination appears stable; it’s worth observing his first run under these conditions.
