On May 23rd, a turf trial over 1200m at Conghua saw the horse start slowly before making up ground to finish reasonably well (6-6-3). Four weeks ago, in a Happy Valley staying race, the performance was disappointing; a slow jump and settling towards the rear were followed by a mid-race effort which ultimately faded. A subsequent barrier trial showed only moderate form. Another turf trial over 1800m at Happy Valley has been completed, with a three-pound weight reduction for this race. The horse has previous records over this distance, holds the best time amongst its group, and has drawn a favorable barrier – considered a good each-way contender.
