On September 5th (dirt trial 1200m: 4-5-4), the horse responded well to urging from the jockey, showing willingness to chase. On August 25th (Conghua turf trial 1000m: 6-7-4) he ran relaxed and appeared capable of more. Returning after a period off, this is his seasonal debut. Two barrier trials have been completed with unremarkable results. A further turf trial over 1400m has been undertaken, and will carry one pound less weight in this race. His time compared to other horses in the group is reasonable; he’s expected to settle back in the field and finish strongly. The horse appears to possess a stronger profile than some of his rivals, with the jockey having some familiarity with his abilities and trainer showing confidence.
