CHEER FOR SOUTH (H178): After the race, Apprentice E C W Wong reported that the intention was to lead the event tonight. He said after CHEER FOR SOUTH jumped a little awkwardly, it failed to show sufficient pace to lead despite being ridden along in the early stages. He added that as a result CHEER FOR SOUTH settled further back than intended. He further stated that after racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event, CHEER FOR SOUTH finished the race off in a one-paced manner. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. NOBLE ONE (G278): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. PODIUM (H173): Jumped only fairly. SONIC BOOM (H144): On arrival at the Start, it was noted that SONIC BOOM had blood in its mouth. SONIC BOOM was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Jumped only fairly. Sent for sampling post-race. WIND SPEEDER (E281): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. YEABOI (G372): Jumped only fairly. VIVA A LA (G282): Sent for sampling post-race. TIMESTORM (G109): Sent for sampling post-race. ISLAND SURPRISE (E429): Shifted out after the 150 Metres, resulting in A Hamelin having to stop riding and straighten. AUGUST MOON (D409): After the race, Z Purton reported that after leading the event AUGUST MOON did not respond to his riding in the Home Straight and could offer no explanation for its disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. CIRCUIT SPLENDOR (E482): After the 150 Metres was steadied when crowded between TIMESTORM and ISLAND SURPRISE (A Hamelin) which shifted out before being corrected by its rider. A Hamelin was advised to exercise more care. EASY TWO (G423): From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

I CAN (H381): After the race, A Atzeni reported that his mount jumped only fairly and as a result was slightly further back than he had anticipated. Sent for sampling post-race. SNOWALOT (E397): After the race, K Teetan reported that his mount travelled satisfactorily throughout the event, but failed to respond in the Home Straight and, in his opinion, may appreciate a surface with more give. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race. TRADITION (J111): For a short distance near the 350 Metres was unable to improve when positioned behind FOREMOST TEDDY which was giving ground quickly, BIG RED (H299): Sent for sampling post-race. STRONGEST BOY (H027): Briefly held up on the Home Turn. For some distance approaching the 250 Metres lay in behind BIG RED and proved somewhat difficult to shift to that runner’s outside. SUPER BABY (G364): No report. FORTUNE COOKIES (J032): Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. FOREMOST TEDDY (J058): After the race, K De Melo reported that his mount travelled well outside the lead, but from the 600 Metres came under pressure and when he felt there was something amiss with the horse, he eased it down in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, FOREMOST TEDDY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. RUNNING BOY (J041): Had its right front plate refitted at the holding stalls, examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. FRUITY WARRIOR (J035): From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the race, L Hewitson stated that after settling back in the field, when the pace increased from the 500 Metres, FRUITY WARRIOR was unable to improve from that point and did not run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, FRUITY WARRIOR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

WINNING DRAGON (E461): Sent for sampling post-race. GALLANT WAKING (G165): After the race, C Y Ho reported that in the early stages he looked to obtain a trailing position behind NOBLE PURSUIT. He said when that runner shifted to a one-off position near the 1400 Metres, GALLANT WAKING was left racing wide and without cover thereafter. He added that GALLANT WAKING raced keenly in this position and was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. NOBLE PURSUIT (H324): After the race, H Bowman stated that after obtaining a handy position one-off near the 1400 Metres, his mount travelled satisfactorily in the early stages. He said throughout the middle stages NOBLE PURSUIT was disadvantaged when it did not appreciate racing tight to the inside of GALLANT WAKING and when placed under pressure from the 500 Metres responded only fairly to his riding. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, NOBLE PURSUIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race. BRAVEHEARTS (H389): Slow to begin. AWESOME FLUKE (J050): In the early stages raced keenly and near the 1500 Metres was eased to avoid WINNING DRAGON when that runner shifted in. Making the Home Turn was held up for clear running. QUANTUM PATCH (H166): No report. FLAMINGO TRILLION (H192): Made contact with the left side of its barrier on jumping. Sent for sampling post-race. DEVILDOM (H445): After the race, L Hewitson reported that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride his mount conservatively in the early stages and if circumstances permitted to make a mid-race move. He said when DEVILDOM jumped well and runners to his inside did not show the intention to hold a forward position, he allowed DEVILDOM to shift in to race outside the leader FLAMINGO TRILLION without having to make use of his mount to do so. INTREPID WINNER (G144): No report.

KEEN UNITY (G298): No report. RELIABLE PROFIT (G462): No report. TO INFINITY (G277): Shifted out at the start and was bumped. Sent for sampling post-race. MASTER OF LUCK (G276): Making the Home Turn was held up for clear running. Near the 250 Metres was shifted to the inside of RELIABLE PROFIT to obtain clear running. Near the 200 Metres became held up between RELIABLE PROFIT and HAPPY HUNK which shifted out and as a result MASTER OF LUCK was unable to obtain clear running until near the 100 Metres. YEE CHEONG WARRIOR (E025): No report. DRAGON DELIGHT (G395): After the race, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that after being crossed by EAGLE RUN approaching the 1000 Metres, DRAGON DELIGHT travelled only fairly thereafter. He added that, in his opinion, DRAGON DELIGHT may be better suited if it is able to race in the lead. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BIG TWO (E310): Bumped at the start by TO INFINITY which shifted out. After the race, H Bowman reported that his mount travelled well during the running of the event. He said after shifting out to a three wide position near the 600 Metres, he started to improve into the event, but making the Home Turn was bumped by EAGLE RUN when that runner shifted out to improve. He added that once balanced in the Home Straight BIG TWO failed to respond to his riding and raced in a disappointing manner. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils. Before being allowed to race again, BIG TWO will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race. HAPPY HUNK (H101): No report. HAPPIHOOD (H261): Jumped only fairly. Raced wide and without cover throughout the early stages and was allowed to stride forward from the 800 Metres where it obtained a position outside the lead near the 550 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race. EAGLE RUN (G415): No report. HANG'S CHOICE (E311): No report. MISTER ARM (D491): Jumped awkwardly and then raced tight soon after the start.

SUNNY DARLING (J171): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. SIGHT HERO (D487): Shortly after the start bumped with WINNING HEART. CURRAHEE (J204): Leaving the 1100 Metres was bumped by COSMO NAVIGATOR which shifted in and away from SUPER AXIOM despite the efforts of A Hamelin, rider of COSMO NAVIGATOR. GLORY CLOUD (H320): When questioned, H Bowman stated that his mount was standing awkwardly in the barriers and received some assistance from the starting gate handlers. He said as the start was effected GLORY CLOUD hesitated and as a result lost ground and settled further back than what had been anticipated. He added GLORY CLOUD travelled well at the tail of the field and his preference would have been to save ground making the Home Turn by improving to the inside, but was unable to do so and as a result he elected to shift out approaching the 450 Metres to start to improve into the event. He further stated that in the early part of the Home Straight GLORY CLOUD responded well to his riding, however, near the 100 Metres the horse’s run peaked and finished the race off fairly from that point. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, GLORY CLOUD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race. WINNING HEART (H065): Bumped shortly after the start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. COSMO NAVIGATOR (H156): Sent for sampling post-race. GIMME FIVE (J099): Approaching the 1000 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied to avoid SWEET DIAMOND (A Badel) which shifted in when not quite clear. A Badel was advised to exercise more care. SUPER AXIOM (E105): No report. BRAVO WARRIOR (J088): Jumped awkwardly and lost ground and shortly after the start was steadied when crowded by CURRAHEE which shifted in and away from SWEET DIAMOND. MANYTHANKS FOREVER (J065): From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. SWEET DIAMOND (G063): Sent for sampling post-race. MIRACLES (G083): Was a late withdrawal acting on veterinary advice after sustaining an injury to the right front leg after becoming fractious whilst being transported to the racecourse. Before being allowed to race again, MIRACLES will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

ONE FOR ALL (G012): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. FORTUNE WARRIOR (H229): No report. MA COMET (H391): Approaching the 150 Metres raced tight to the inside of HAPPY HORSE which shifted in and as a result made contact with HAPPY HORSE on a number of occasions approaching the 100 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race. SUPER COMMANDER (D350): After the race, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that after being crowded at the start SUPER COMMANDER then raced tight to the inside of ONE FOR ALL for some distance thereafter. He said as a consequence he was not able to lead the event as instructed. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SERGEANT PEPPER (E432): Approaching the 500 Metres was steadied when crowded between ONE FOR ALL and PHILOS which shifted out slightly. For a short distance near the 100 Metres raced in restricted room between FORTUNE WARRIOR and CAMINO. SIGHT HAPPY (J261): Shortly after the start was bumped by SUPER COMMANDER and became unbalanced. After the race, K Teetan reported that his mount, which was having its first race start, raced greenly throughout the event and hung out making the turns. Approaching the winning post raced tight between ONE FOR ALL and CIRCUIT SEVEN which shifted in slightly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race. CIRCUIT SEVEN (D474): Shortly after the start was crowded between SERGEANT PEPPER and SIGHT HAPPY. CAMINO (H231): Sent for sampling post-race. HAPPY HORSE (H061): Kicked a rail in the Parade Ring, was examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the Start who said the horse had blood in its mouth but was passed suitable to race. GORGEOUS VITALITY (G051): Jumped only fairly. After the race, A Hamelin reported that despite riding his mount along in the early stages GORGEOUS VITALITY failed to show any early pace and became detached from the field and took no competitive part in the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of GORGEOUS VITALITY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GORGEOUS VITALITY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments. JOY IN JOY (H054): Approaching the 400 Metres was briefly crowded by SIGHT HAPPY which shifted in when racing greenly. PHILOS (H371): No report.

AFFORDABLE (J242): From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. GALLANT HERO (E480): Jumped awkwardly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. From the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running and was shifted to the outside of TURIN WARRIOR. Then lay in when being shifted to the outside of HOLY POWER and as a result was held up for some distance near the 100 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. TURIN WARRIOR (G150): Sent for sampling post-race. DRAGON STAR (H128): Sent for sampling post-race. HOLY POWER (H039): Apprentice E C W Wong (GALLANT CROWN) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that after the 1500 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of HOLY POWER, resulting in HOLY POWER being checked to avoid the heels of GALLANT CROWN. Apprentice Wong was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 29 May 2024 and to expire on Thursday, 6 June 2024 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays). In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his poor race riding record. Over the concluding stages raced tight to the inside of MR ALADDIN and could not be fully ridden out to the finish. GALLANT CROWN (D359): Apprentice E C W Wong pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference after the 1500 Metres (see HOLY POWER). SETANTA (G095): Sent for sampling post-race. FAMILY FORTUNE (H447): In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 900 Metres was steadied away from MR ALADDIN and as a result was obliged to shift three wide where it made contact with RUNNING AHEAD. Then raced wide and without cover thereafter. Lay out making the Home Turn. MR ALADDIN (H386): No report. RUNNING AHEAD (G313): Jumped only fairly. Near the 900 Metres was bumped and taken wider by FAMILY FORTUNE and as a result raced keenly for some distance thereafter. NICE BIRDIE (G470): No report.

E UNIVERSE (H151): After the race, L Hewitson reported that his mount travelled well in the lead, however, came under pressure on entering the Home Straight and gave ground from that point. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of E UNIVERSE, a last start winner, was considered to be disappointing as compared to its previous race start. Before being allowed to race again, E UNIVERSE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. DOUBLE BINGO (J309): After the race, L Ferraris reported that his instructions were to take up a handy position. He said he was caught wide in the early stages when SUPER EAGLE held its position to his inside and as a result was obliged to make some use of his mount to cross that runner where it raced outside the lead in the early stages. He added that DOUBLE BINGO raced greenly during the event and after being crossed by PRIME MORTAR near the 600 Metres came under pressure before weakening in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SIGHT SUPREME (J258): After the race, Z Purton reported that his mount travelled well during the early and middle stages of the event and would derive benefit from tonight’s race experience and potentially being stepped up in distance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. PRIME MORTAR (G328): Sent for sampling post-race. MISTER FOX (J059): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. FAIRY HORSE (J144): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. HERCULES (C476): In the early stages when being eased to obtain cover raced tight between SUPER EAGLE and DOUBLE BINGO. Making the first turn lay in, resulting in its rider C L Chau having to correct his mount. LAPRAS (H374): Jumped awkwardly. Lay in when under pressure in the Home Straight. SPICY GOLD (H440): Bumped a rail on a number of occasions when entering the track, was examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the Start and passed suitable to race. Sent for sampling post-race. SUPER EAGLE (G408): No report. HAPPY FEELING (H443): Near the 100 Metres was inconvenienced when crowded between HERCULES and FAIRY HORSE which shifted out. HARMONY N HOME (C531): Leaving the 600 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by SPICY GOLD (A Badel) which shifted in and away from SIGHT SUPREME when racing tight to the inside of that runner. A Badel was advised to exercise more care.

WINNING ICEY (G246): Jumped awkwardly. After the race, Apprentice E C W Wong reported that his mount failed to travel throughout the event and raced in a disappointing manner. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. COPARTNER PRANCE (H408): Sent for sampling post-race. A AMERIC TE SPECSO (H037): Jumped only fairly and from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. SUPER WINNER (C341): No report. HEALTHY HEALTHY (H203): Bumped on jumping. After the race, A Badel reported that his mount jumped only fairly and then as a result settled further back than intended. He added that HEALTHY HEALTHY responded fairly to his riding in the Home Straight and may be looking to be stepped up in distance for its next race start. NEVER TOO SOON (E434): Jumped only fairly and was then bumped shortly after the start. For some distance approaching the 200 Metres was held up for clear running between MAGIC PHOENIX and SUPER WINNER which was giving ground. After the race, K De Melo reported that whilst his mount had some difficulty obtaining clear running near the 200 Metres, it raced "flat” tonight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SOLAR PARTNER (E364): No report. ARMOUR EAGLE (G093): Shifted in at the start and was bumped and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. CALIFORNIA TOUCH (J051): Sent for sampling post-race.
