When the gates opened, SPECIAL DAYS bounded in the air and lost ground. VENI VEDI VICI began awkwardly, lost ground and was then taken across behind runners. AMPLE GAINS and SLEEP WELL were slow into stride. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, LU YUE took time to muster speed. In the early stages, GRAND CRU was taken back from a wide barrier. At the 350 Metres, GRAND CRU, which was shifting out to obtain clear running, was momentarily steadied away from the heels of SPECIAL DAYS. Passing the 100 Metres, LU YUE had some difficulty obtaining clear running. In the Straight, SPECIAL DAYS got its head up and hung out. Throughout the race, BLEDISLOE and JADE DRAGONFLY travelled wide and without cover. BEST FRIEND, QUICK TOUCH and INTERCHINA STAR were sent for sampling.
