Steward Report Predict Pace Map
After arriving at the Start, it was noted TELECOM EMPEROR had lost its right front plate. TELECOM EMPEROR was replated and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. ACTUARIAL TALENT was slow into stride. On jumping, TELECOM EMPEROR was taken back. At the 150 Metres, FLYING KENNY was steadied when unable to improve between HOT SUN which was giving ground and ACTUARIAL TALENT. For the major part of the race, FAST WINNER hung in and over the concluding stages raced tight outside SINGLE MALT. Throughout the race, SINGLE MALT travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of HOT SUN, Apprentice K C Leung said the horse was not suited by dropping back in distance to the 1000 Metres of today’s race. He said he was required to make use of HOT SUN to have the horse travel in a forward position as instructed and as a consequence his mount was off the bit throughout the race. HOT SUN was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of HOT SUN after the race did not show any significant findings. When questioned regarding the poor performance of MAXIMUM CHARM, D Whyte said his mount did not travel well at any stage of the race and felt restricted in its action behind. MAXIMUM CHARM was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of MAXIMUM CHARM after the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, MAXIMUM CHARM will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MOUNT SURPLUS and PERFECT ATHLETE were sent for sampling. <20/4/2009> Additional Veterinary Reports MAXIMUM CHARM, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. MAXIMUM CHARM was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C W Chang this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to have a sore and stiff lower back. As previously advised, MAXIMUM CHARM will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
