EVER KING began awkwardly and shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of WIN MORE which shifted in after being bumped by ENCOSTA DON. After this, WIN MORE failed to muster speed. Then, for the majority of the race, WIN MORE travelled wide and without cover. TOUCH CHIC was slow to begin. Approaching and passing the 1200 Metres, CENTRAL ROLE proved very difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions when being checked away from the heels of TOUCH CHIC. Passing the 200 Metres, ENCOSTA DON, which had been hanging in, was reluctant to shift to the outside of the heels of BULB TREASURE into clear running. When ENCOSTA DON shifted out, it bumped WIN MORE, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced. W M Lai reported that BULB TREASURE was disappointing in that it failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of BULB TREASURE after the race did not show any significant findings. VICTORY STYLE and CENTRAL ROLE were sent for sampling. <29/4/2010 Additional Veterinary Report> When being transported from the Happy Valley Racecourse to the Sha Tin Racecourse following last night’s race meeting, ROYAL PORTRAIT became fractious in the transporter. The Veterinary Officer has this morning reported that ROYAL PORTRAIT sustained multiple abrasion wounds to legs and head. Before being allowed to race again, ROYAL PORTRAIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
