GLOBAL RULER was slow to begin. From the outside barrier, EASY GOLD was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Near the 900 Metres, VALUE CHOICE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of OUR WISH. After the 800 Metres, HEXAGON got its head on the side and hung out. HEXAGON then continued to hang out until after straightening. Before being allowed to race again, HEXAGON will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a bend. After the 400 Metres, SUNSHINE BOY was taken in by HEXAGON which shifted ground. Then after the 200 Metres, SUNSHINE BOY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of VALUE CHOICE. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that OUR WISH had lost its right front plate and was lame in its left hind leg with a laceration over the tendon area. A veterinary inspection of TYCOON TAYLOR after the race did not show any significant findings. GOLD JOINT, BLESS US ALL and VALUE CHOICE were sent for sampling.
