MULTIPROUD, which was leaning on the outside of its stall, was slow to begin. From wide barriers, LINKED WIN and AMBITIOUS OWNER were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Shortly after the start, DR BULLION and MR AWARD were steadied when crowded for room between GOLD WINNER and THINK BIG which, after initially being taken out by SUPERIOR WARRIOR, shifted out further ground of its own accord. Making the first turn after the 1000 Metres, KA KA’S PROSPERITY proved difficult to settle and then in the Straight got its head on the side and lay out. After the 600 Metres, ALWAYS WELL and DR BULLION bumped. THINK BIG, which was following DR BULLION, was awkwardly placed on the heels of that horse for a short distance after this. Passing the 250 Metres, G Cheyne (AMBITIOUS OWNER) dropped his left rein. A veterinary inspection of GOLD WINNER and DR BULLION after the race did not show any significant findings. ALWAYS WELL and SUPERIOR WARRIOR were sent for sampling. <16/6/2011 Additional Veterinary Report> GOLD WINNER, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. GOLD WINNER was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C S Shum this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to have a sore right front tendon. Before being allowed to race again, GOLD WINNER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
