SPLENDID FEELING was withdrawn on 20.3.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter GOOD VIEW GLORY. Before being allowed to race again, SPLENDID FEELING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. On jumping, GLORY BO BO shifted in and made contact with SERGEANT PEPPER, resulting in GLORY BO BO then shifting out and bumping KING INVINCIBLE which became unbalanced. Soon after the start, JAZZ CLUB was steadied when crowded between KOWLOON EAST STAR which shifted in after bumping with ALWAYS FLUKE and ACE TALENT which was taken out by ATOMIC ENERGY. From the outside barrier, GOOD VIEW GLORY was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 600 Metres, ACE TALENT was steadied when crowded between SERGEANT PEPPER (H Bowman) which shifted in slightly and MR MAJESTIC which shifted out when making the turn awkwardly. H Bowman was advised to exercise more care. Making the turn near the 600 Metres, KING INVINCIBLE, which was racing greenly, shifted out and bumped GOOD VIEW GLORY. A short distance later, KING INVINCIBLE improved to the inside of ALWAYS FLUKE and was steadied. Near the 250 Metres, MOMENTUM GALAXY raced tight to the inside of GLORY BO BO which shifted in slightly. Near the 150 Metres, MOMENTUM GALAXY then became awkwardly placed close to ATOMIC ENERGY when improving into a narrow run between ATOMIC ENERGY and GLORY BO BO. KING INVINCIBLE raced greenly throughout the event and when placed under pressure was inclined to shift ground in the Straight before being directed to the inside of ACE TALENT passing the 100 Metres to secure clear running. Then over the final 50 Metres, KING INVINCIBLE raced tight to the inside of ACE TALENT. Over the concluding stages, ALWAYS FLUKE, which was making good ground, could not be ridden out when improving close to MOMENTUM GALAXY. GLORY BO BO and SERGEANT PEPPER raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. After the race, ACE TALENT was noted to have sustained a small laceration to the left hind leg. A veterinary inspection of KOWLOON EAST STAR immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils. KOWLOON EAST STAR, ATOMIC ENERGY and MOMENTUM GALAXY were sent for sampling.
