QUANTUM PATCH jumped awkwardly, shifted in and bumped LUCKY GOLD. SUPER FOOTBALL and SIMPLE HEDGE bumped at the start. ORIENTAL SMOKE jumped awkwardly, made contact with the left side of its barrier and became unbalanced. ALL ARE MINE shifted in at the start and made contact with JOYFUL FRIENDSHIP. ALL ARE MINE then raced tight to the inside of CIRCUIT MIGHTY for a short distance thereafter and blundered near the 1200 Metres. SIMPLE HEDGE was held up for clear running for some distance after the 400 Metres behind LUCKY GOLD and when being shifted to the outside of LUCKY GOLD inconvenienced QUANTUM PATCH. After the race, K C Leung (IMPERIAL GOODNESS) reported that his mount made an abnormal respiratory noise during the running of the event and gave ground quickly in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection of IMPERIAL GOODNESS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of IMPERIAL GOODNESS was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, IMPERIAL GOODNESS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Also after the race, M Chadwick (SUPER HIGHWAY) stated that his mount blundered on several occasions in the Back Straight when taking up a forward position. He added that whilst SUPER HIGHWAY was obliged to race wide and without cover from the 900 Metres, it failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and he had some concerns with its action when he eased it down. A veterinary inspection of SUPER HIGHWAY immediately following the race found that horse to have multiple wounds to both hind legs. The performance of SUPER HIGHWAY was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER HIGHWAY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SIMPLE HEDGE and HAPPY DAILY were sent for sampling.
