SERGEANT PEPPER (E432): After the race, Z Purton could offer no excuse for his mount’s failure to finish the race off strongly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in its trachea and also found the horse to have sustained minor lacerations to both hind legs. Before being allowed to race again, SERGEANT PEPPER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race. E BROTHER (E266): No report. FORTUNE WARRIOR (H229): Sent for sampling post-race. SAVVY DELIGHT (E386): No report. G ONE EXCELLENT (E359): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. COLOURFUL PRINCE (E418): Jumped only fairly. Making the turn after the 400 Metres lay out and as a result was positioned close to SERGEANT PEPPER and blundered. FANCY STAR (H428): Jumped awkwardly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. For some distance near the 650 Metres was crowded when racing tight to the inside of SUPER FAST DRAGON which after being taken in by MR GOOD VIBES shifted in and away from that runner slightly. After the race, L Currie reported that his mount lay in in the Home Straight and proved difficult to ride out. HAYDAY (H321): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. KING INVINCIBLE (H199): Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. After the race, M Chadwick reported that due to the strong early pace, his mount did not travel strongly throughout the early and middle stages and in the Home Straight finished the race off fairly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported. MR GOOD VIBES (H180): Shortly after the start was crowded by HAYDAY which shifted in. A short distance later, was then steadied when crowded between E BROTHER which shifted out and HAYDAY which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider M F Poon.
