INVINCIBLE SAGE (H301): Approaching the 300 Metres was held up for clear running between METRO WARRIOR and SPORTS LEGEND and when improving into that run made contact with METRO WARRIOR at the 250 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race. PLEASANT ENDEAVOR (E114): Bumped approaching the 300 Metres. SPARKLING KNIGHT (C201): Sent for sampling post-race. METRO WARRIOR (D387): Jumped only fairly and then was bumped shortly after the start. Bumped at the 250 Metres. GOLDEN DARCI (H470): Bumped at the start. After the race, Z Purton stated that the horse, which was having its first race start in Hong Kong, would derive benefit from today’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SPORTS LEGEND (H456): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. THE GREAT MASTER (H457): As C L Chau was unable to fulfil the engagement on THE GREAT MASTER due to being overweight, M F Poon was substituted as the rider of that horse. C L Chau was fined the sum of $5,000. Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and bumped GOLDEN DARCI. Shortly after the start M F Poon dropped his right rein before being quickly regathered. EURO ROCKS (H153): Became fractious whilst being saddled and made heavy contact with a rail. Examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Lay in over the final 400 Metres when placed under pressure. SUMMIT CHEERS (E221): Approaching the 300 Metres was directed to the inside of SPORTS LEGEND to secure clear running and in doing so bumped with PLEASANT ENDEAVOR. SUPER COMMANDER (D350): Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of K Teetan, 6th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse’s finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race. After the race, K Teetan reported that his mount jumped only fairly and he had to make some use of SUPER COMMANDER to lead the event. He stated that as a result SUPER COMMANDER did not finish the race off strongly and, in his opinion, is also better suited on firm tracks. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
