AMAZING VICTORY (G123): No report. JOYFUL HUNTER (H198): When questioned, L Hewitson stated that his mount jumped awkwardly and made contact with KA YING CHEER but travelled well throughout the early and middle stages. He said after being placed under pressure making the Home Turn JOYFUL HUNTER failed to respond to his riding from that point and raced in a disappointing manner. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of JOYFUL HUNTER was considered to be disappointing as compared to its previous starts. Before being allowed to race again, JOYFUL HUNTER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race. CAPITAL LEGEND (G333): Apprentice E C W Wong stated that after his mount commenced awkwardly, he lost the use of his right iron for a short distance before he was able to reposition his foot into the iron. He said that he was given no specific instructions as to where to settle his mount but in the early stages was caught wide and as a result raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. He added that in the Home Straight CAPITAL LEGEND did not respond to his riding and raced disappointingly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. RED ACLAIM (J017): Slow to begin. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. FLYING MOJITO (G412): Jumped only fairly. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Near the 100 Metres was bumped by RATTAN KINGDOM and as a result shifted out and away from that runner. RATTAN KINGDOM (G035): From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. SETANTA (G095): Jumped only fairly. Bumped near the 400 Metres and became unbalanced. Approaching the 100 Metres was disappointed for a run between JOYFUL HUNTER and FLYING MOJITO and was then shifted to the inside to continue into clear running. D STAR (G374): Slow to begin. Sent for sampling post-race. SHOW RESPECT (H138): No report. SUPER WINNER (C341): Sent for sampling post-race. UP AND UP (H163): L Ferraris, who weighed in at 123 lbs, was fined the sum of $3,000 for retuning to scale 2 lbs overweight. Jumped awkwardly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. AORAKI SUMMIT (H300): Bumped at the start. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Near the 400 Metres was bumped by SETANTA and became unbalanced. KA YING CHEER (H369): No report. HYPER DRAGON BALL (G450): On arrival at the barriers, C L Chau expressed concern with his mount’s action. Examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be lame in its right front leg and accordingly was not suitable to race. Withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, HYPER DRAGON BALL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
