SERGEANT PEPPER (E432): Approaching the 300 Metres was shifted to the inside of KOWLOON EAST STAR to secure clear running. After the race, L Hewitson could offer no explanation for his mount’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SAVVY DELIGHT (E386): Approaching the 150 Metres was directed to the outside of KING INVINCIBLE to secure clear running.
GREAT ACHIEVER (J049): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
GUSTY FIGHTER (J029): Bumped on jumping. Near the 300 Metres made contact with VALIANT ELEGANCE when briefly crowded between VALIANT ELEGANCE and LIFE IS GOOD which shifted out to obtain clear running. After the race, A Atzeni reported that his mount hung out on the Home Turn. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
KOWLOON EAST STAR (E158): Jumped awkwardly and then was bumped shortly after the start.
PACKING PROSPECT (H424): Leaving the 150 Metres was briefly crowded by DIAMOND SOARS. After the race, J McDonald advised that his mount jumped awkwardly and as a result lost ground and settled further back than intended. He added with the fast early pace and the horse having its first race start, PACKING PROSPECT was unable to maintain a more forward position, but made up good ground when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.
VALIANT ELEGANCE (D285): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event and lay out in the middle stages and as a consequence made the Home Turn wide.
LUCKY QUALITY (D050): Sent for sampling post-race.
DIAMOND SOARS (G201): Bumped near the 150 Metres. After the race, C Y Ho reported that after holding an on-pace position, his mount failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight. Trainer P F Yiu stated that the horse may have been disadvantaged by being pressured in a forward position and as a result was unable to finish the race off strongly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
KING INVINCIBLE (H199): Near the 150 Metres bumped with DIAMOND SOARS when taken in by LIFE IS GOOD (Apprentice Y L Chung) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. Apprentice Chung was advised to exercise more care.
LIFE IS GOOD (H118): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Sent for sampling post-race.
TIMESTORM (G109): Jumped only fairly. Approaching the 100 Metres was crowded between SERGEANT PEPPER and PACKING PROSPECT which shifted in and away from DIAMOND SOARS.
