LIGHTNING BOLT (G130): Leaving the 600 Metres brushed the running rail and became unbalanced. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. VIVA CHALEUR (G368): Shortly after the start was crowded between BEAUTY GLORY and GOLDEN EMPIRE which shifted out before being corrected by its rider L Hewitson. LUCKY ARCHANGEL (E385): Bumped at the start. BON'S A PEARLA (G449): Near the 1150 Metres was steadied when crowded between A AMERIC TE SPECSO and GOLDEN EMPIRE, both of which shifted ground. H Bowman (VIVA CHALEUR) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 1000 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of BON’S A PEARLA, resulting in BON’S A PEARLA losing its rightful running and being checked. H Bowman was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Thursday, 4 January 2024 at Happy Valley. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 1 having regard to the fact that VIVA CHALEUR was racing keenly at the time and was awkwardly placed on the heels of WATCH BUDDY and the consequences grade 2 and his good record. Sent for sampling post-race. ARMOUR EAGLE (G093): Bumped at the start. Sent for sampling post-race. BEAUTY GLORY (E459): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. GOLDEN EMPIRE (E490): Approaching the 200 Metres was briefly tightened between DENFIELD and LUCKY ARCHANGEL which shifted out and away from BEAUTY GLORY. A AMERIC TE SPECSO (H037): After travelling a short distance was crowded between BON’S A PEARLA and LIGHTNING BOLT which shifted out and away from WATCH BUDDY. Briefly held up near the 400 Metres. After the 300 Metres was shifted to the inside of BEAUTY GLORY to secure clear running and then raced tight between BEAUTY GLORY and STREET CONQUEROR for a short distance near the 150 Metres. DENFIELD (G471): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. STREET CONQUEROR (H341): No report. WATCH BUDDY (H185): Bumped shortly after the start. From the 800 Metres raced wide and without cover. On the Home Turn was bumped by ARMOUR EAGLE which shifted out to improve.
