K H Chan was warned in relation to using his whip on a horse that was out of contention and showing no response. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SAMARKAND (H070): Held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 200 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.
DRAGON STAR (H128): No report.
LUCKY GOLD (G112): Hampered on jumping and was bumped a short distance later.
STURDY RUBY (H207): Bumped at the start. Sent for sampling post-race.
ROYAL PRIDE (E351): Raced wide and without cover until near the 600 Metres.
GOLD TACK (H106): Bumped at the start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea.
JOYFUL FRIENDSHIP (H295): Jumped only fairly and then was crowded shortly after the start.
ATOMIC BEAUTY (H066): No report.
BRAVE WITNESS (H425): Shortly after the start was bumped by LUCKY GOLD which shifted out and was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Raced keenly in the early stages and refused to settle, resulting in its rider K C Leung allowing his mount to stride forward after the 1000 Metres but was obliged to race wide and without cover thereafter.
YEABOI (G372): No report.
FORTUNE PRESIDENT (G054): Jumped awkwardly. For a short distance near the 300 Metres was held up for clear running. Close to the finishing line could not be ridden out when positioned close to the heels of GOLD TACK which shifted in.
