SAKEWIN (G275): After the race, M F Poon could offer no explanation for his mount’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. The performance of SAKEWIN, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SAKEWIN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. THE GREAT MASTER (H457): No report. MIGHTY STRENGTH (H450): Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the 900 Metres after improving to the inside of HAPPY FOR ALL (K C Leung) was then steadied when crowded by that runner. K C Leung was advised to exercise more care. SUPER INFINITY (J320): Jumped only fairly. After the 1000 Metres commenced to race keenly after being crossed by HAPPY FOR ALL and was steadied away from the heels of that runner. After the 400 Metres was shifted to the outside of HAPPY FOR ALL to obtain clear running. Sent for sampling post-race. TAIHANG SCENERY (J314): After the race, C L Chau reported that in the early stages his mount, after jumping well, raced keenly and as a result he was obliged to allow TAIHANG SCENERY to hold a more forward position. He added that as a result TAIHANG SCENERY was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event. THE WINNABE (J251): Sent for sampling post-race. THUNDERBOLTAURUS B (J281): Jumped awkwardly and made contact with the left side of its barrier. YODA'S CHOICE (J146): Jumped only fairly. Lay out on the Home Turn. HAPPY FOR ALL (H181): After the 400 Metres was held up for clear running behind TAIHANG SCENERY and shifted to that runner’s inside after the 350 Metres to obtain clear running. M L Yeung (SKY SONG) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 200 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of HAPPY FOR ALL, resulting in HAPPY FOR ALL being checked and losing its running. M L Yeung was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Sunday, 26 May 2024 and to expire on Thursday, 30 May 2024 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 1 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his poor race riding record. Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race. SKY SONG (J159): After the race, M L Yeung reported that his mount jumped well today and as a consequence settled in a more forward position. M L Yeung was found guilty of a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 200 Metres (see HAPPY FOR ALL). CRYSTAL POWERFUL (H068): No report. CAMP FIRE (J259): Was a late withdrawal acting on veterinary advice after sustaining a head injury in the stables and being found to have blood present at the left nostril. An endoscopic examination conducted on CAMP FIRE found that there was no blood in its trachea and therefore the horse was deemed not to have bled. Before being allowed to race again, CAMP FIRE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
