SABINA was withdrawn on 25.9.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter REDOUTE’S FORTUNE (W C Marwing). Before being allowed to race again, SABINA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FANTASTISCH began very awkwardly and shortly after the start shifted out, resulting in REDOUTE’S FORTUNE and FULL SPIRIT, both of which were slow to begin, being hampered. TELECOM GOGO was slow to begin. From a wide barrier, MIRAGE R was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. After being crossed by DANESOUTH near the 1200 Metres, MR SPEEDY proved very difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of DANESOUTH for some distance. After the 1000 Metres, FULL STAR was steadied away from the heels of MR SPEEDY which continued to be awkwardly placed close to the heels of DANESOUTH. REDOUTE’S FORTUNE travelled wide and without cover until after the 800 Metres at which time it improved its position to be racing in the lead. Near the 400 Metres, HUMONGUS was inconvenienced when disappointed for running between DANESOUTH and MR SPEEDY which shifted out. Near the 200 Metres, TELECOM GOGO was hampered when disappointed for running between DANESOUTH and MR SPEEDY, both of which shifted ground. After this, TELECOM GOGO was not able to obtain clear running and consequently was not fully tested. At the entrance to the Straight, WATCH FIRST, which lay in under pressure in the Straight, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HUMONGUS and then approaching the 200 Metres was again awkwardly placed outside the heels of that horse. HUMONGUS and O’REILLY MAGIC were sent for sampling.
