THUNDER BLINK (J019): On jumping was steadied when crowded between CONCORDE STAR which was taken out by SUPREME WINNER and CALIFORNIA MOXIE which was taken in by RUN YES RUN. Near the 1100 Metres was eased when crowded between CONCORDE STAR and CALIFORNIA MOXIE. Sent for sampling post-race. LA FORZA (J285): Inside the 100 Metres was steadied. CALIFORNIA BANNER (J132): Raced wide and without cover from the 700 Metres. CALIFORNIA MOXIE (J131): Jumped awkwardly and was crowded shortly afterwards. When questioned regarding his riding and his decision to shift to the outside of RUN YES RUN near the 100 Metres, B Avdulla stated that approaching that point he felt that both SANTORINI and RUN YES RUN were laying out and this may have resulted in the run to the inside of RUN YES RUN closing. He said for this reason he then elected to shift to the outside of RUN YES RUN to obtain clear running inside the 100 Metres, but as he did so, RUN YES RUN (M Chadwick) shifted out, resulting in CALIFORNIA MOXIE having difficulty obtaining clear running and being buffeted for room between RUN YES RUN and PATCH OF COSMO. B Avdulla was advised he must ensure that there is sufficient racing room when he improves into similar runs in future. M Chadwick was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. LORD OF THE ROSE (J297): Jumped only fairly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. SUNNY BABY (E166): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. AROMATICA (H437): After the race, L Hewitson reported that from a wide barrier he was instructed to take up a more forward position today. Trainer W Y So confirmed the instructions and stated that such instructions were issued on the basis that AROMATICA had performed disappointingly at its recent starts. He added as the horse is one-paced, the instructions to go forward were to endeavour to offset its one-paced racing manner. MEDIC ELITE (G129): No report. SPLENDID STAR (G026): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. RIGHT HONOURABLE (A164): Shortly after the start was bumped and became unbalanced. Raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 400 Metres was bumped by JOYFUL FRIENDSHIP which shifted out to improve. SPEEDSTAR (G181): From the 400 Metres until the 300 Metres was held up for clear running when unable to shift to the outside of FOXHUNTER WAY due to it being positioned to the inside of the heels of that runner. Was then shifted to the inside of STAR OF GLORY to obtain clear running shortly after. Sent for sampling post-race. SMART BEAUTY (G477): Sent for sampling post-race. SUPERB DADDY (D235): From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. FOXHUNTER WAY (E296): Jumped awkwardly. Near the 250 Metres H T Mo dropped his whip. HOLY LAKE (H260): After the race, C Y Ho could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance of his mount. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of HOLY LAKE was considered to be disappointing as compared to its recent starts. Before being allowed to race again, HOLY LAKE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. TURIN MASCOT (H165): Was left racing wide and without cover from the 1000 Metres. ILLUMINOUS (J170): Slow to begin and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Over-raced in the early stages. After the race, Z Purton stated that his mount was disadvantaged by settling back in the field and was unable to improve from the 550 Metres when positioned behind BOURBONAIRE. He added that once into clear running in the Home Straight, ILLUMINOUS ran to the line in a one-paced manner, however, found it difficult to make up ground due to the manner in which the race was run. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race. SAMARKAND (H070): Raced wide and without cover until the 1400 Metres when it was allowed to stride forward when the pace of the event eased. AWESOME FLUKE (J050): Sent for sampling post-race. BRAVEHEARTS (H389): When questioned, L Hewitson stated that from the inside barrier he was asked to hold a more forward position, particularly as BRAVEHEARTS had barrier trialed well in this manner on 6 May 2024. He said after jumping well, when runners to his outside improved in the early stages, he was able to obtain a position on-pace with cover. When questioned regarding his riding from the 550 Metres and as to whether there was an opportunity to improve to the outside of HOLY LAKE, L Hewitson stated that whilst his preference was to obtain this position, he had continuously received a call from Jockey H Bowman, the rider of BOURBONAIRE which was positioned to his outside, and as a result he was unable to shift out as he was concerned he may cause interference. He added that on straightening he then became disappointed for clear running between BOURBONAIRE and HOLY LAKE when both runners shifted ground slightly and as a result BRAVEHEARTS was held up between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres. EIGHTEEN CARAT (J104): Jumped only fairly and then shortly after the start was crowded between HOLY LAKE and TURIN MASCOT. After the race, A Badel confirmed that the instructions were to go forward on his mount, but was unable to do so when crowded at the start. Sent for sampling post-race.

When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, M Chadwick stated that after following BALLISTIC WIN, he was of the opinion that runner had lay out on the Home Turn and may shift out in the Home Straight. He said for this reason approaching the 400 Metres he initially shifted to the inside of BALLISTIC WIN to obtain clear running, but when that runner was corrected by its rider, he was held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 350 Metres. He added that passing the 350 Metres he was able to shift to the outside of BALLISTIC WIN where GANGNAM STAR commenced to run on well. He added that over the concluding stages when improving to the outside of BALLISTIC WIN, GANGNAM STAR lay out away from BALLISTIC WIN and as a result was awkwardly placed on the heels of DIVANO and could not be ridden out to the finish of the event. The Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Chadwick were reasonable in the circumstances. TELECOM BULLET (J097): Hung out in the middle stages and ran wide making the Home Turn. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
