After arriving at the barriers, M Chadwick expressed concern regarding the action of FLORA DANICA. FLORA DANICA was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said, after the necessary consultations with the jockey, the horse was suitable to race. HONEY FORTUNE, which was leaning on the inside of its gate, began awkwardly. GOLDEN HARVEST was slow to begin. From the outside barrier, GENKI MOOCHI was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Near the 1100 Metres, EL GRANDE was steadied away from the heels of GOLDEN HARVEST which was taken in slightly by BENEFACTOR. Passing the 1100 Metres, BLESS US ALL was awkwardly placed close to the heels of OYSTER which was being steadied to shift in to obtain a position with cover. Approaching the 1000 Metres, SILVER DRAGON was awkwardly placed close to the heels of NOBODY BUT YOU. Near the 800 Metres, GENKI MOOCHI got its head up and raced ungenerously when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SILVER DRAGON. Then approaching the 600 Metres, GENKI MOOCHI again got its head up and proved difficult to settle when being steadied away from the heels of SILVER DRAGON which itself got its head up when being checked away from the heels of NOBODY BUT YOU. Approaching the 200 Metres, NOBODY BUT YOU shifted to the inside of OYSTER to obtain clear running. Throughout the race, TOUCH WELL travelled wide and without cover. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that OYSTER had lost its left hind plate. A veterinary inspection of BLESS US ALL after the race revealed the horse to have bled from both nostrils. CAPITAL K and BENEFACTOR were sent for sampling.
