On May 22nd, a dirt trial over 1200m saw the horse finish a comfortable second showing some improvement. Three weeks ago, in a dirt mile race, performance was poor; slow jump, settled towards the rear and faded significantly. A subsequent barrier trial indicated slight progress. Another turf trial over 1200m is planned with an eight-pound weight reduction this time. The horse has yet to win in eight attempts at this distance, and recent times of horses in the same group are uninspiring. Despite drawing an inside barrier, a rearward position is expected; finishing kick is its strongest attribute but chances appear limited overall.
