March 6th’s turf trial over 1000m saw an average break, dropping back in the middle stages (sections: 5-4-8). On April 29th’s dirt trial over 1200m, the pace was steady early on but lacked a strong finish. Three months ago, this horse ran poorly over a Sha Tin mile, slow out of the gates and settling at the rear with an even pace and no finishing kick, resulting in a significant defeat. After a long break, two barrier trials have not shown any improvement. Making his debut for a new stable, he’s trialed again on Happy Valley's 1200m track; this time carrying a six-pound weight reduction and drawing a good barrier. Expect a hold-up tactics, relying on a finishing kick which may be insufficient even if the overall pace is slow. Looks like a longshot with limited chances.
