Three weeks ago, this horse showed promising acceleration during a turf trial over 1000m, tracking along the outside rail. Two weeks ago, it ran poorly over 2000m on the Sha Tin turf, with a slow start and settling towards the back of the field before attempting a mid-race move but failing to close the gap significantly; ultimately finishing well-beaten. A recent barrier trial didn't show expected improvement. The horse’s body weight has dropped 22 pounds. Switching to a Happy Valley mile for its first attempt at this distance, it will carry an additional three pounds this time. The distance is unfavorable and a rearward tactic is anticipated. However, the draw is advantageous giving it a chance for an immediate move.
