On 5/6, the horse recorded strong trial figures on the Conghua dirt track over 1200m (1-1-1), taking an early lead and maintaining it throughout. On 23/5, he trialed over 1000m on the Conghua turf (3-1-3), showing a mid-section move before being allowed to run at its own pace. Two months ago, in a Happy Valley mile race, the performance was poor; despite leading early and accelerating in the middle stages, it faded badly and finished well-beaten. Following a short break, two trials have shown slight improvement. Returning from Conghua, this horse will race over 1400m on Sha Tin turf for its first start of this campaign. It will need to carry an additional eighteen pounds this time, drawing an unfavourable outside barrier. Despite having recorded two wins at this distance previously and showing comparable times to rivals, the likelihood of settling in a good position tracking the leaders is uncertain. Morning trackwork indicates consistent form; however, winning prospects are considered low.
