On June 27th, a turf trial over 1200m at Conghua saw the horse lacking early speed but making ground along the rail; performance was reasonable. Three weeks ago, in a Happy Valley mile, the run was satisfactory despite a slow jump and settling towards the rear. The horse quickened in the middle stages, finishing strongly for fourth place. A subsequent barrier trial revealed no apparent improvement. Now switching to Sha Tin over 1800m for its debut at this distance, it will carry two pounds less weight. While the distance should suit, the inside draw doesn't represent a particularly advantageous situation; the hope is simply to run well.
