On September 5th, a dirt trial over 1200m saw the horse drop back on the straight and showed little promise. This is its seasonal debut. One barrier trial was undertaken without showing significant improvement. Another turf trial over 1200m at Sha Tin was completed; this time it will carry five pounds more weight, with a reasonable section time compared to other horses in the same group. Drawing an inside barrier provides an advantageous position. Jockey Vincent Ho takes the ride, and there appears to be good synergy between horse and rider. Despite three previous unsuccessful attempts over this distance – all resulting in losses – it tends to settle towards the rear of the field but lacks the finishing kick of its rivals. The trainer-jockey combination hasn’t been particularly successful, however, should not be discounted.
