On September 16th, this horse showed good speed in a turf trial over 1600m, taking the lead easily and finishing second. On August 29th, during a dirt trial over 1200m, he settled mid-pack and wasn’t pushed for an effort in the straight. This is his seasonal debut after two trials indicating slight improvement. He will carry six pounds more this time, having previous form over this distance. The timing looks good relative to other horses in the race, and he appears capable of tracking the pace or leading. Drawing well, the trainer and jockey seem confident, with adequate pre-race work done. Despite an outside barrier, a clean break and intention to track the leaders should see him perform competitively.
