Four weeks ago, this horse produced a very disappointing performance over a Happy Valley mile, jumping poorly and settling towards the rear; he maintained a steady pace throughout but lacked any momentum, resulting in a heavy defeat. Dropping in class for this run, he recently returned in a 1600m turf trial. However, he now carries a 20lb penalty, and his trial timings were underwhelming. Facing an uphill battle, he tends to settle back in running, and his finishing kick may not be sufficient to challenge his rivals. With no significant synergy between trainer and jockey and a tough task ahead, even an ideal draw is unlikely to yield an opportunity.
