THE BOOM BOX

Three weeks ago, the horse performed well over a Happy Valley mile, despite a slow start; it tracked from off, running steadily along the way and gradually closing in during the final stages. In a return run over 1400m on Sha Tin turf, it failed in all five starts, putting it at a disadvantage. Its positioning has not been ideal, and trailing to compete may mean its finishing kick will not match that of the rivals. The partnership between jockey and trainer has not shown particular promise, so it is viewed as an outsider.
