EMERGING STAR

Six weeks ago, the horse ran poorly over 1200m on Sha Tin turf, showing a slow start and tracking in the rear. He ran steadily throughout, gradually closing in towards the finish. Last run, he moved to Happy Valley turf over a mile for his first attempt at this distance, where he is carrying an extra 23 pounds. The trip may not suit him, and his time figure was weak, putting him at a disadvantage in terms of position and draw. The jockey and trainer do not appear to have a strong synergy, although his closing kick is arguably the strongest in this field, suggesting he remains a low-chance contender.
